In October of 2015, I was one of three that co-founded Kaizen Health with the goal of creating a logistics platform for health initiatives, matching them to transportation providers that offered the level of service needed to get their patients to and from appointments.

Developing the Brand

Identity

Keeping in mind the mission of getting patients to their medical appointments, I developed many options for the mark, ultimately landing on a visual pun between a hand, heart, and location pin.

Typography

The approach I took for Kaizen’s typography was a more playful one. Headers were done in Gotham Medium (and Montserrat for web-based usage) but at a smaller point size than the subheads or body copy, around the size of the body copy’s x-height. This leaned on the visual hierarchy to carry the designs, by using the case, color, and weight.
